Copyright/Licensing At Painted Wings Publishing, we only use fonts and artwork we hold the copyright or commercial licensing for. Authors using our services must likewise hold the copyright and/or appropriate licensing for any material/files they provide for us to work with.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Painted Wings Publishing recognizes the harm of generative AI, especially within the publishing community where so many have had their works stolen and exploited. We never knowingly include generative AI in any of our designs. While we staunchly oppose generative AI in creative spaces, we recognize not everyone is as passionate on the topic as we are. We do not police others' use. We do, however, have restrictions on how our work can be used respective to AI. Painted Wings Publishing's designs, files, and techniques may not be uploaded to AI-training programs or manipulated by AI programs.
Proprietary/Non-Compete Restrictions As the original creator of printed/forced/embedded edges for indie authors, Painted Wings Publishing's technique and file specifications are considered proprietary. With the most experience in the industry, our work is precise and intentional, resulting in quality you won't see from competitors. You may not use or share proprietary information regarding Painted Wings Publishing’s technique, files, or communications for the purpose of direct competition.
Licensing Restrictions Unless otherwise stated, Painted Wings designs—including but not limited to: edge design files and formatting artwork—are licensed for one author to use on their own works. You may not share or sell these files. Files may be supplied to a formatter of author’s/publisher’s choosing for application, but the license does not transfer for usage beyond the original terms.
